Retro Biosciences, the longevity startup funded by Sam Altman, is advancing clinical trials in Australia for its lead compound RTR 242. The pill is designed to stimulate cellular recycling processes that typically decline with age, specifically targeting the protein aggregation seen in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. CEO Joe Betts-LaCroix reported that current cohorts have shown no major safety signals, prompting the company to add new cohorts to identify the optimal dose for potency without side effects.
